The Linderella Story is over: Jeremy Lin to miss the rest of the season with knee injury

Well, it was fun while it lasted. Maybe it was because it gave us an excuse to talk about Tim Tebow again. Maybe it was because we got to make up fun puns like I did in the title. Some people enjoy to watch him play.

Bottom line though, was that we liked the story. We liked this guy from Harvard who was sleeping on his brothers couch.

That story will have to be put on hold till at least the playoffs, but more likely till next season. Jeremy Lin had missed the past three games with a knee injury but it was confirmed today that he had a meniscus tear in his knee that will require surgery. He is expected to miss around six weeks.

It’s a hard blow to the Knicks, but they have still been successful in the last three games without Lin. In his absence along with the injury of Amare Stoudamire, Carmleo Anthony has had to take over the team. But who knows, maybe someone will take advantage of the injuries like Lin did when he became the starter. Lin will be a free agent next season, but he sees his future in New York.

“It’s been an unbelievable journey,” he said. “I would love to keep this team together as long as we can, everybody, top to bottom.”
